Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Where can I download the Distributo application ?
The Distributo application is available for download from the official website www.distributo.fr. Simply access it from your Android smartphone and follow the instructions to install the application. Make sure to allow installation from unknown sources if prompted.
Q2: How do I connect my phone to the feeder via Bluetooth ?
Once the application is installed, enable Bluetooth on your phone. In your Bluetooth settings, pair the device named DISTRIBUTO_xxxx using the code provided with your kit. Then open the application, tap "Bluetooth Connection," and select the device from the list. The connection will be established if you are within 5 meters of the feeder.
Q3: My phone can’t connect to the feeder. What should I do ?
If the connection fails, make sure the feeder is powered, that the status light is on, that you are within the recommended 0 to 5 meter range, and that Bluetooth pairing was completed using the correct code. If the problem continues, restart your phone and check the feeder’s wiring.
Q4: What are the operating modes of the feeder ?
The feeder operates in automatic mode and in manual mode via the Bluetooth connection, provided you are nearby (about 5 m).
Q5: How do I schedule an automatic feeding ?
From within the application, you can set the date and time, define an appropriate unit ration, then schedule the days of the week and the feeding times. Once these settings are saved and transferred to the feeder, feeding will run automatically according to your parameters.
Q6: How can I tell if the feeder is properly connected ?
When the feeder is correctly connected, the status light on the feeder turns blue. In the Distributo application, all menu buttons become active and the feeder appears in the list of connected devices. You must be within 0 to 5 meters for a stable connection.
Q7: What should I do if the portions dispensed don’t match the settings ?
Several factors may cause this issue. The program that was sent to the feeder may not be the correct one, the feed being used may not match the one selected during calibration, or the calibration itself may have been done incorrectly. We recommend checking the settings, performing the calibration again, and sending the program to the feeder once more.
Q8: The feeder isn’t responding, what should I do ?
If the feeder makes no sound and the indicator light is green, it may be out of service. If the light is red, this means the program is deactivated. In that case, you need to reactivate the program from the application. If none of these actions solves the issue, please contact after-sales support.
Q9: Which types of feed are compatible with the feeder ?
The feeder is designed to work with dry feeds that match the size and texture requirements of the dosing mechanism. Feeds that are too large, sticky, damp, fibrous, or prone to clumping can cause blockages or dispensing malfunctions. It is important to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure proper use.
Q10: How do I maintain the feeder ?
The feeder requires very little maintenance, which consists of cleaning it with air only. No water. You must also make sure that no foreign object or incompatible feed is introduced into the hopper. If that happens, simply detach the feeder from the hopper and clear the paddles of the rotary mechanism.
Q11: What should I do if the feeder’s indicator light is off ?
An unlit indicator may point to a power outage, a poorly connected or faulty adapter, or a blown fuse if the unit is running on battery power. Check each point one by one, replace the fuse if needed, and contact after-sales support if you’re unsure.
Q12: What are the technical specifications of the feeder ?
The feeder is equipped with a marine-grade okoumé plywood hopper for outdoor use. It includes an electric dispenser with a flexible-blade rotary mechanism driven by a 12V DC gear motor. It operates with a 12V / 24W power adapter and consumes around 6W while running, and about 0.1W in standby.
Q13: How can I contact technical support ?
Distributo after-sales support can be reached by email at contact@distributo.fr or by phone at 06 25 31 45 05.
